    Description

Antique Ivory PY-RA-LIN (Pyralin) Hand Vanity Mirror ca. 1920. This is a sweet little hand mirror, weighing 6.6 ounces. The Pyralin base is 5" across, 7-1/2" in length, and 3/8" thick. The beveled mirror is 4-1/4" in diameter. The mirror is beveled around the edges. The letters IVORY PY-RA-LIN are embossed into the plastic just at the base of the mirror (see photo).
I've tried to show the marks in the mirror; the top of the mirror seems just fine, but I suspect that the backing on the mirror has become a bit compromised -- almost looks like smudges from glue marks are showing through slightly. For 100 years old, the "old girl" looks pretty good!
This item ships USPS First Class; I combine shipping on multiple purchases.
About Pyralin: Ivory Pyralin is a kind of plastic made between 1900 and World War I. It was first made by the Arlington Co. in New Jersey, then the DuPont Co. purchased Arlington in 1917 and began selling sets with names such as "French Ivory" and "La Belle."
