Description
This Rawlings MC TOP OF THE LINE Mort Cooper model glove appears to date to around the late 1940's. A little harder to be precise as Rawlings made the Mort Cooper model for many years both in the 1940's and early 1950's. It has a great Rawlings St. Louis cloth label in really nice condition. Made for a right handed thrower. Heavy leather piping. Great form and on-hand feel. Inner liner in very good condition. Nice leather inside and out is soft and pliable. Mort Cooper gloves are considered RARE in some price guides and are very sought after by glove collectors. Mort Cooper was a star pitcher from 1938 to 1949 with the St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers and N. Y. Giants. He was a 4 time All Star and won NL MVP in 1942. He was also a member of two World Series championship teams in 1942 and 1844 with the Cardinals. Great glove for it's age and a great gift for any Cardinals or Brooklyn Dodgers collector!
