The radio will have to be used a while to provide smoother operation.  Because it's been used very little, the band push-buttons may need to be pushed more than once to make good contact but once on, no further fiddling is required. The speakers are very realistic and provide great fidelity. I've always had an affinity for the RF5000 because it is such a superior electro-mechanical device. The flywheel tuning is fun to use, and this unit is definitely the best one of the five RF5000's that I've owned in my lifetime.
