Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (PZH Gouda) Anjer Pattern 7" Candlestick 1919

Description

This lovely hexagonal 7" tall  PZH Gouda candlestick in the Anjer Pattern has a matte green & bronze glaze with rich sky blue decorations of flowers & leaves on a burnt sienna/reddish-brown background with orangey-yellow accents. My Gouda Pottery book says the mark of the tree branch with 4 leaves on it, drawn on the bottom of the piece, was the mark used for the year 1919 (see 4th photo). The candlestick is in almost perfect condition. There are no cracks or major flaws.There is a slight smudging of the bronze glaze in a few places around the outside outline of  the design band around the very bottom of the piece (see 5th photo). And there is the teeniest chip, smaller than a pinhead, on the top of one of the points at the bottom of the candlestick, truly not noticeable unless you are looking hard for it (see 6th photo). Wish I had the mate to this beautiful piece. The blue of the flowers & leaves is just spectacular & very unusual. If you love the color blue, you will adore it !!!
