    Description

Hand crafted recreation of a very early and rare prewar television set from the late 1930's. I use original parts from prewar radio cabinets and electronics from solid state black and white portable
television sets to bring back to life early television viewing. This set is typical in appearance of those from the late 1930's period and is in
    the
art deco style.  It has a 5" diagonal black and white screen. and a nice loud speaker.  Period appropriate decals, knobs (which are all functional), speaker cloth, and wood finish.
    Measurements ( approx): 14 1/2
" tall,  13 1/2" wide and  12" deep.  The set has been converted to coaxial and may be attached directly to a cable box, DVD/VCR player, a laptop using HDMI port or any other a/v source for which an adapter to coaxial exists.
Real prewar television sets are extremely rare as very were made, few families could afford one and very little programming was available. Many of them were sold in kit form and the aspiring hobbyist would have to construct them to the amazement of family and friends. When an original set becomes available today, they command prices in the tens of thousands. I make these sets because I have always been fascinated by the thought of televisions being available in the 1920's and 30's and what it must have been like to have had the rare opportunity to view one.  I want to share that fascination with others.  If you sit in front of one my sets and watch a program, you'll know what I mean.
The set will be double boxed and shipped by FedEx ground to your location - fully insured for the purchase price.  International shipping available through the eBay Global shipping program.
