Torah Pointer - Yad.
The 20th century.
Silver (marked), repousseed and engraved.
Length: 25 cm.
A silver Torah pointer, shaped as a long rod, capped by a small hand with its index finger pointing from it. The upper part of the Torah pointer is delicately repousseed and engraved with geometric and vegetal patterns. Pendant ring at the end. A light ringing sound can be heard when rattling the pointer. Word has it that when the reader in the Torah was disturbed in his reading, he used the rattle as mean to silence the congregation.
