    Description

    Up for auction is a stunning antique dark blue transferware dinner plate manufactured in Staffordshire, England during the early 1800s.  The dinner plate is from Wilkie's Designs and it features The Escape of the Mouse.  The back of the plate is marked with the pattern name, and overall it measures approximately 10 1/4" in diameter.
    The overall condition of the plate is excellent.  It is extremely clean and has no chips, cracks, or repairs with the exception of a small flake repair to the front of the plate around 5 o'clock.  The white earthenware is still very bright and the blue color is deep with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with minimal crazing and there are light scratches on the surface.  The plate displays extremely well and would be a nice addition to any collection or home!
