The Shark Rig - 6 ft Castable Shark Fishing Leader
These leaders are now compliant with the new 2019 Shark Fishing laws of
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
and
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
The hooks used on this rig are "non-stainless steel" and "non-offset"
This Shark Rig is good to catch sharks up to 8ft. If you are using 100lb mono or more on your main line, you could even catch larger sharks with this leader. This leader uses a 16/0 circle hook and has a 3ft bite leader made of 480lb coated stainless steel. A swivel attaches the stainless steel leader to an additional 3ft of 400lb mono to prevent break offs from tail whips on your line. To cast this leader, attach a large spider weight to the snap swivel, bait the hook and hang the hook from one of the legs on the spider weight. This will put all of weight in one location and allow better casting. Once you have casted the bait will free itself from the spider weight.
