fantastic--another great item for Elli Buk, google him if you wish.....this is a very scarce (no info on internet) television sculpture by Jon Hassell an American trumpet player and composer. He is known for his influence in the world music scene and his unusual electronic manipulation of the trumpet sound.)---"my television sculpture came directly out of my experience in studying the magnified dot matrix which makes up the seemingly continuous image on most color tv screens. I wanted to make this mi=crostructure more visible and, in a way, these pieces are really 'blow ups' of this basic structure. A transforming effect of teh sculpture is that the image of a person mormally represented by a mosaic of thousands of tiny dots is now only four or five lage ones. In Marshall McLuhan's terms, the 'cool' low definition TV image is made 'cooler' to the point of abstraction" this item is dated 1970 patient pending. the package design and color filter was made by Billy Bryant Copley, another young artist living in NYC. very scarce, unused and complete in open box, with instructions, frame piece with center lens piece. 2 filters (color and diffusion) and interlocking fasteners. you put the whole thing on the tv. i have ot tried the art work, but i bet it is very cool. you probably wont find another, i bought two, and i would not sell this one, if i did not have another. WOW. really a bargain, for what you are getting. you will love it.-------from years of storage there is a bit of circles on the box and one of the plastic filters (from the 3-d circles on the center lense piece)

here is a bit more info from answering questions:
sure, the total size is aprox. 18 x 24 inches, that is the entire black screen and that would attach onto the front of the tv screen, so as long as the picture size is smaller than that it will be fine. (but I guess even if the tv were bigger that might be cool as you would get a border of program and then the black and then the effect . the actual size of where the light will shine through is aprox 9 x 11 at the widest points. the clear plastic filter just has some of the impressions of the circles on it (from storage), like you can see on the instruction sheet in the picture but not as pronounced. and yes the quotes are from the back of the brochure/instructions included.
