While there are several blue and white duck creamers floating around the US marketplace, none are as well done or well drawn and painted as this one.
The small feather creamer lid is in tact. Amazingly it has NO cracks or chips. And the feather is beautifully painted.
The pouring spout is wider than othrs and thus pours much better than most. The bill is flared out and upwards a bit for better pouring and a more authentic beak.
The floral flower painted on the duck's breast is extremely well done, as are the feathers along each side.
The handle is also much better than most; sturdy, wider, larger, and more open for fingers to fit inside.
The creamer duck lid is a perfect feather rather than being lost or open, or some version of a knob. It's a feather!
The handle has some small marks along the top, but these are not chips, but rather are dots where the glaze or finish bubbled and left an open spot. These charming dots give a bit of traction to the handle and a spot for the thumb to rest when you pour.
Both sides are decorated. And the variations of blue used also indicate a strong artisan and better quality.
Also BOTH the inside and outside of this item is finished and glossy. Not only a mark of quality, but it means it will be less likely to stain and much easier to clean.
The base is marked "handcrafted in Thailand".
